Eat

Todd English may have put Charlestown on the "dining map" when he chose to open Olives and Figs in the area, but the Warren Tavern is a true Charlestown treasure. Warren Tavern is the oldest tavern in Massachusetts, (and one of the oldest in all of America), and is rumored to be the favorite watering hole of American Patriots like Paul Revere and George Washington (I've heard that Washington's funeral speech was given here). Aside form the history Warren Tavern serves some great food in a friendly atmosphere. One bite of the Tavern Burger will tell you why local still love this watering hole.

Party

Charlestown is as diverse in bars as it is in demographics. With desirable dive bars and places that play host to an upper society scene, it is easy to see that one bar does not have it all. Sullivan's Pub is the perfect place to test the local waters. Tried and true Townies hang here; this is the place you should order a beer. Looking for something a bit more upscale? Walk over to Olives for a martini that will knock your socks off. Waterfront libations seem more your scene, Tavern on the Water is just the thing.

Stay

With so many "big bucks" hotels throughout the city the Constitution Inn is one way to save those dollars to play during the day. A non-profit you merely pay for the room without doling out a dime to Uncle Sam.
